Appointment with the world of design
with Il Sole 24 Ore and How To Spend It.
Together with the new edition of Salone del Mobile, Il Sole 24 Ore offers its readers a series of events on newsstands and online to deepen the dynamics and perspectives of the sector.
It starts on Friday 3 September with the Special devoted to Design of How To Spend It, “Superior Interiors”, on newsstands with Il Sole 24 Ore to offer an overview of the most interesting news in the furniture sector through the analysis of trends, between smart materials and sustainability , interviews with the protagonists – from Renzo Piano to Allegra Hicks and Roberto Mottola di Amato, from Damien Hirst to Olafur Eliasson – and product focus.
In addition to investigations on materials and sustainability, “Superior Interiors” dedicates an in-depth study to reuse and ecology, ethical and aesthetic frontiers that are increasingly explored, and to Custom Made projects, because furnishings are increasingly studied as tailored suits.
Including the ‘I make myself a (deluxe) swimming pool in the garden’ service with the instructions of specialized architects, the best ideas and new materials. Finally, the specials on high jewelery and haute cuisine, jewels of domestic and personal design.
But How To Spend It is also a platform that extends from magazine to digital, through new video and audio formats: in particular, “Design Pills”, the first podcast of design storytelling by How to Spend It, an event of five episodes, one per day, dedicated to the icons of design, the objects that have changed our habits and our gestures, the “design to listen to”.
The Podcast serie will be available from Friday 3 September on the Sole 24 Ore website within the section dedicated to How To Spend It, as well as within the Podcast area of IlSole24ore.com and on the main distribution platforms including Spotify, Spreaker and Apple Podcast.
Finally, on Sunday 5 September Il Sole 24 Ore will be on newsstands with the Special Design, a 32-page Report dedicated to all the trends in the world of design: the news on Made in Italy, the focus on the markets of China, the United States and Russia and all future scenarios, from strategies to adapt to sustainability criteria to changes in processes and products and the new raw materials used to reduce emissions. The report will also be available online on the Sole 24 Ore website.
The promotion of the magazine and the Report has a great impact through numerous communication initiatives: wide visibility in the main newsstands in Milan through dedicated maxi screens (the so-called i-rotor) and targeted distribution through e-bikes in the central areas of Milan as well as inside the MUDEC, the Museum of Cultures of Milan managed by 24 ORE Cultura located in the heart of the Tortona area and of the major Fuorisalone initiatives.
In particular, e-bikes will distribute a How To Spend It branded bag containing the number of Superior Interiors, the Sole 24 Ore Report, a mini pack of Amuchina and a mask, to highlight the desire to “re-start” to live our sociability, but always with confidence. Furthermore, starting from 2 September and for 14 days How To Spend It will be the protagonist with “Superior Interiors” in the maxi digital billboards of the city in the most important streets and squares of Milan, from Piazza San Babila, to Largo Augusto, Vetra area, Via De Amicis and San Calimero, Corso Venezia.
The dinamic advertising will continue with other systems such as the street boxes that will communicate the new podcast series. How To Spend It – “Superior Interiors”, the podcast “Design Pills” and the Design Report of Il Sole 24 Ore will be promoted with as many press campaigns planned on the means of the 24 ORE Group through the pages of the newspaper, the digital formats of the site, mobile, app and social channels.
